Applied provided the electrical engineering services for the expansion to the electrical vehicle (EV) charger station on the north side of the 3rd level of the Indianapolis International Airport parking garage.
This scope of work included a power and distribution panel for 14 parking spots with chargers fed from above, and the necessary power from the nearest electrical room. The 4 Level 3 – 50 kW fast chargers provide 200 miles of battery range for every hour a light-duty vehicle is plugged in, while the 10 Level 2 – 7.5kW chargers provide 25 miles of battery range for every hour a light-duty vehicle is plugged in.
A subsequent project added an additional 28 EV charging stations – 14 more in this same location, plus 14 on a different level in the same location of the garage. We also added EV charging stations for airport support equipment near the baggage claim area and outside where support equipment is parked.
