Governmental Design Services

Applied Engineering Services has completed many high level studies and designs for city and state-owned facilities. These have included mechanical and electrical utility (infrastructure) improvements, building renovations and equipment replacement of mechanical and electrical components. These projects include:

  • Design project to replace obsolete and corroded electrical service equipment for the Belmont and Southport advanced wastewater treatment plants with all new equipment.
  • Study and design project to upgrade the chilled water system at the Indiana Government Center.
  • Study and design to replace corroded domestic hot water piping and chemical treatment systems at the Indiana Government Center North and South complex.
  • Study and design project to replace the fire alarm system and upgrade the electrical system at the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center.
  • Renovation of the Marsh Agriculture/Horticulture Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
  • Design project to replace water heaters in five Level III housing buildings located on the site of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
  • Design project for one new glycol hot water heating boiler, accessories, and controls for the Rockville Correctional Facility in Rockville, Indiana.
  • Study and design project to repair tunnel and replace steam and condensate lines at Logansport State Hospital.

Applied Engineering Services understands that the engineered design of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for government-owned facilities must yield systems that are reliable, efficient, cost effective and easy to maintain. Our designs incorporate such factors as life cycle cost, energy efficiency, redundancy and ease of maintenance. In many cases, the engineering must consider the construction aspects of the design, so as not to interrupt the daily activities of government offices and State employees. Through activities in ASHRAE and IEEE, Applied stays current with the latest technology in mechanical and electrical designs. At Applied, we are continuously upgrading our knowledge in order to be on the leading edge in engineering design for governmental facilities.
